Late December every year I take a stroll down memory lane, and try to reflect back on my goals. I don’t just think about what I did or didn’t achieve. I’m more interested in WHY and HOW. Why was one goal so simple and easy to accomplish, while others were a HUGE, UNBEARABLE chore? HOW did I follow through with the goals that I actually met. HOW did I miss the other’s completely? These are also questions that I ask my coaching students and elite transformation clients. Each time I do this, I notice some VERY IMPORTANT patterns.

The goals that we achieve have two things in common:

1. We can easily visualize ourselves reaching the goal

2. We find a way to enjoy the journey along the way



Each time we dream and visualize our goal, we begin to feel a tiny taste of what achieving that goal would actually be like. Perhaps that’s why the great Zig Ziglar once said: “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” You see, as much as we like to think we are mental, emotional, and spiritual beings, we are still very much animals with physical bodies. Physical bodies that have evolved to respond to stimuli in our environment, in order to save our lives. For example, our stomach growls to tell us we must eat. We shiver when we’re cold, reminding us to find shelter and clothing. Our adrenaline spikes when we feel fear, giving us energy to run from danger. Taking this a step further, neuroscientists believe that our imagination evolved in a very similar way, to help advance civilization. Psychologists and motivational speakers the world over are teaching the importance of VISUALIZATION and it’s connection to reaching goals.

We rise to the challenge

Looking back on the last 3 years, I remember my first juice like it was yesterday. It was delicious and refreshing. It filled me with energy. More importantly, IT IGNITED A SPARK. At that time I was overweight, sluggish, feeling old, with poor sleep and a pessimistic attitude. That glass of juice gave me an idea. “What if I drank this every day?” “What if I just did something totally crazy, and started eating healthy, and exercising like I enjoyed it?” “What if I told all of my friends, and challenged myself to really commit to this for 3 months straight?”

So I did it. I challenged myself. I enrolled my friends and co-workers to hold me accountable for 90 days.

Since then, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with healthy food and a healthy lifestyle, and I’ve made it my life’s goal to spread the word to 1 billion people. That’s why I’m super stoked to tell you about the Fitlife Transformation Challenge.
